it is a HP dx 7400 SFF which ahs got IDE-SATA II Hard Disk Drive, I've successfully run the batch convert process in vConverter with everything left as a default, the problem started to rise when the Hard Drive in the VM is not recognized due to the controller used is IDE instead of SCSI using LSI Logic SAS or parallel.
I've right click the newly created entry in my ESXi 4 vSphere client console to 'Upgrade' the hardware hoping that the IDE would turn become SCSI but still no solution. the Console still blank without any sign of life just a blinking cursor.
is there any way to convert a Windows XP Pro 32 bit desktop into a VM please ?

Try going back to version 5.5 and disable the Converter's use of SSL:

Its just one file you need to edit and should bring the time for conversion down to hours, assuming that SSL was the problem. Another thing that might help is to disable any services on the Server 2003 box. Also, disabling VSS can also help a LOT:
